TECHNICAL COMMENT
This pullover is worked from side to side. The side seam is not exactly at the underarm for
Size Medium due to the striping of the garment. The underarm stripe is added at the end of
the Front and Back pieces. All descriptions of Right and Left in the pattern refer to the
garment as it sits on the body!
FRONT
LEFT SHOULDER
With Cash Iroha held double, cast on 68 (71, 74) sts.
Purl 1 row. Knit 1 row. Purl 1 row.
Row 1 (RS): With Niji, knit 68 (71, 74) sts, cast on 4 new sts at end of row. = 72 (75, 78) sts.
Rows 2 - 11: Work in St st, starting with a knit row.
Row 12 (WS): Bind off 4 sts, work to end.
Rows 13 & 15: With Cash Iroha, knit.
Rows 14 & 16: With Cash Iroha, purl.
SIZE SMALL: Rep Rows 1 - 12 once more.
SIZES MEDIUM & LARGE: Rep Rows 1 - 16 once, then Rows 1 - 12 once.
LEFT SIDE OF NECK OPENING
Next row (RS): With Niji, bind off 14 sts. Change to Cash Iroha and knit to end of row.
Purl 1 row. Knit 1 row. Purl 1 row.
Row 1 (RS): With Niji, knit 54 (57, 60) sts. Cast on 4 sts at end of row.
Row 2: Knit. Cast on 2 sts at end of row.
Rows 3 - 11: Work in St st, starting with a purl row.
Row 12 (WS): Bind off 4 sts, finish row.
Row 13 (RS): Bind off 2 sts. Change to Cash Iroha and knit to end of row.
Rows 14 & 16: With Cash Iroha, purl.
Row 15: With Cash Iroha, knit.
Repeat Rows 1 – 16 for Left Side of Neck Opening, 2 more times (all sizes).
RIGHT SIDE OF NECK OPENING
Row 1 (RS): With Niji, knit 54 (57, 60) sts. Cast on 4 sts at end of row.
Row 2 (WS): Knit. Cast on 14 sts at end of row. = 72 (75, 78) sts.
Rows 3 - 11: Work in St st, starting with a purl row.
Row 12 (WS): Bind off 4 sts, finish row.
Rows 13 & 15: With Cash Iroha, knit.
Rows 14 & 16: With Cash Iroha, purl.
RIGHT SHOULDER
